TravelAge West staff members Deborah Dimond, Mark Rogers, Skye Mayring, Janeen Christoff and Monica Poling visit the Minus5 Ice Lounge Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay.

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, along with MGM Mirage, hosted TravelAge West’s three-day editorial retreat in Las Vegas this month. The TravelAge West staff held meetings at The Mirage; toured MGM Mirage properties and the CityCenter sales office; dined at Kokomo’s and the three-star Michelin restaurant, Joel Robuchon; and enjoyed ice-cold cocktails at Mandalay Bay’s Minus5 Ice Lounge Las Vegas.

Hong Kong Tourism Appoints New Director

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has appointed William B. Flora as director of HKTB offices in the U.S. In his new role, Flora will formulate and manage marketing and communication strategies and act as a key spokesman. Flora has 30 years of advertising and marketing experience and previously managed the Princess Cruises and Cunard Line accounts for Dailey & Associates.

“[Flora’s] previous experience in the cruise sector will definitely be an asset to us, as we work with cruise lines and operators to develop new cruise itineraries for U.S. consumers,” said Anthony Lau, HKTB’s executive director.



Bornstein Joins Azamara

Azamara Cruises has appointed industry veteran Edie Bornstein to vice president of sales and marketing. Bornstein has more than 25 years of experience in the global cruise, travel and technology industries, and most recently served as vice president of business development and strategic partnerships for Carnival Cruise Lines.
