For those clients looking to take a river cruise without needing to fly to Europe, American Cruise Lines just launched its latest vessel — American Melody. In fact, the new ship will embark on the company’s longest U.S. river voyage at 22 days along the Mississippi River. Melody first set sail on Sept. 3.
The “Complete Mississippi River Cruise” itinerary encompasses complimentary pre-cruise nights onboard the ship, cocktail parties and Mississippi-inspired gourmet meals, as well as special gifts for the inaugural season. In addition to the extended route, Melody will offer eight-day lower and upper Mississippi cruises, plus New Orleans roundtrips and holiday sailings through December 2021.
Melody follows American Jazz, which set sail in March 2021, in the line’s Modern Series of riverboats, which started in 2018 with American Song. The latest in the class carries 175 guests and showcases all balcony staterooms and suites, a bold sky-lit atrium, a main dining room, a casual al fresco cafe, a fitness center and a signature Skywalk deck cantilevered over the ship’s upper deck.
In 2022, American will launch another two sister ships to Melody: American Symphony and American Serenade.
