Alaska Heritage Tours, part of CIRI Alaska Tourism Corporation, has created a number of custom vacations for 2011. Tour packages are designed to allow guests enough time to explore each destination at their own pace. The tour operator provides knowledgeable guides as well as comfortable and convenient transportation to many popular destinations in Alaska via deluxe motorcoach or train.
New this year, the Land Tours for Cruisers package begins on Fridays or Sundays in order to match cruise schedules arriving in Seward. The six-day excursion includes a boat tour in Prince William Sound, accommodation for two nights at Seward Windsong Lodge and accommodations at Talkeena Alaskan Lodge, where guests can view the 20,320-foot peak of Mount McKinley. Using complimentary shuttles, guests can explore quaint Alaska towns on their own or, for a more in-depth view of the region, they can add a flightseeing tour in Talkeetna or a guided hike to Exit Glacier in Seward.
Also available this year, the Alaska Grand Explorer package covers some of the most popular sights in Alaska — from the wildlife of Kenai Fjords National Park to the spectacular scenery of Mount McKinley. Guests stay at the Talkeenta Alaskan Lodge, explore Denali National Park and complete the 10-day tour in Fairbanks.
On the eight-day National Park Rail Tour, guests travel by luxury rail and take in the glaciers and wildlife of Kenai Fjords National Park, views from Talkeetna and the scenery of Denali National Park.
