Alaska's First Embassy Suites Opens in Anchorage

Jul 31, 2008

Stonebridge Companies unveiled their newest property in June, the Embassy Suites Anchorage, the first Embassy Suites brand in Alaska.  Centrally located in midtown and minutes from the airport, this premier 169-suite hotel features amenities in demand by both business and leisure travelers.  This is the fourth Stonebridge Companies property in Anchorage along with Hilton Garden Inn, Homewood Suites and Hampton Inn.

The newly built Embassy Suites Anchorage exudes serenity and warmth with handcrafted stonework throughout. The brushed-steel whale tail fountain and oversized ocean scenes in the entry depict a contemporary view of a true Alaskan experience.

Highly anticipated amenities include Pi Kitchen + Bar (marketed exclusively by Stonebridge Companies), 24-hour Business Center and 6,000 square feet of flexible meeting and banquet facilities with on-site audiovisual equipment and services, executive boardroom and on-site catering, all ADA accessible.

“The time is ripe for this kind of property – with many corporate offices including British Petroleum, CH2M Hill and Providence Health Care nearby, we feel Anchorage is the ideal place for such a special hotel and restaurant,” said Navin C. Dimond, President and Chief Executive Officer of Denver-based Stonebridge Companies, owner and operator of Embassy Suites Anchorage and Pi Kitchen + Bar.

This upscale hotel is Alaska’s only luxury all-suite property.  Each one or two bedroom guest suite is tastefully appointed  with a private bedroom and spacious living room, and fully equipped with data ports, wireless high speed internet and well lit work area, as well as two TV’s, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and phone.  ADA accessible and Jacuzzi Suites are also available.

Complimentary perks include full cooked-to-order breakfast, evening Manager’s reception, shuttle service to and from the airport, as well as free parking. Essential guest services offered are room service, guest laundry, and valet.  State-of the-art recreation facilities, including swimming pool, whirlpool and fitness center are also in-house.

For midtown lunch and dinner, Pi Kitchen + Bar is highlighted by metropolitan décor that seamlessly complements the healthy “global fusion” cuisine.  Asian, American, Mediterranean, and South Pacific influenced foods are prepared with a contemporary twist, resulting in an eclectic, original menu that is a wonder of fresh ingredients and delicate sauces.  The Hawaiian Sliders, Ponzu-Lemon Grass Scallop & Shrimp Brochette, and Crab Mac and Cheese are bound to be favorites.  Taste buds will be tempted by the delicate odors wafting from the open kitchen.

To mix and mingle, the stylish lounge beckons with refreshing cocktails and martinis.  The Pomegranate Patron Mojitos are popular with the “after-5 p.m.” crowd.
