The International Route 66 Festival is coming to Amarillo, Texas, from June 9-12. This annual event is hosted by the Texas Old Route 66 Association, Historic Route 66 Merchants Association and the Amarillo Convention and Visitor Council. The event aims to unite Route 66 enthusiasts from around the world.
The festival will offer several signature events. Visitors can enjoy an evening cruise along Amarillo’s length of Route 66, attend a car show and motorcycle rally and browse Route 66-themed artwork from across the globe. There will also be a Route 66 book signing, featuring authors Akio Takeuchi, Jim Ross and Michael Wallis. The event will culminate in a street festival on Amarillo’s Historic Route 66.
For $10, visitors can enjoy signature items at participating restaurants that will be offered for their respective prices from the year 1966. Host hotel, the Ambassador Hotel, is offering a special $79 rate for attendees.
