The Anchorage Museum’s summer exhibition, “Wragnell Mountain Skyboys: Making History Above Alaska’s Copper Belt,” will run through Aug. 25 as a supplement to the museum’s “Arctic Flight: A Century of Alaska Aviation” exhibit. This new addition honors the bold adventurous of legendary pilots such as Bob Reeve, “Kirk” Kirkpatrick and Merle “Mudhole” Smith. These men helped broaden the horizons of the Alaskan frontier through extensive exploration. They were also instrumental in opening up the state to mineral development.
Admission to the exhibit is $12 for adults; $9 for students, seniors and members of the U.S. Military; $7 for children and free for children under two years old.
“South Africa attracted nearly 400 000 tourists from North America in 2012, closing at a record-breaking year-on-year increase of 13.6% for the US and 15.6% for Canada. We attribute these numbers to strategic trade and consumer marketing, of which FAM trips are a critical component,” said Sthu Zungu, South African Tourism North America Country Manager.
