Within the 1,830-acre park, visitors can access a plethora of trails __ many of which can be combined to create longer hikes for those seeking additional solace __ along with reservable picnic sites and overnight camping areas. Beyond the peace and quiet, Redwood Regional Park's main draw is, of course, its eponymous 150-foot trees, which tower over hikers and provide needed shade during the warmer months.
Another rarity in a destination so close to a bustling metropolis: Visitors may also spot wildlife in the park, including deer, raccoons, rabbits and squirrels, in addition to rare species such as the golden eagle and Alameda striped racer snake.
Insider tip: Cell service is spotty, so bring a map, as trail markers are not always clear, and many trails connect/branch off. Clients will appreciate being disconnected from the world for a short time, but there's no need for them to get lost off the grid. After all, post-workout, travelers will want to indulge in the Bay's first-rate culinary scene.
