Flagstaff, Ariz. has elevated its adventure opportunities with a park full of obstacle courses set in the trees. The newly opened Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course features four large adult circuits and one children’s course.
The adult courses feature 10 to 17 different obstacles each. Rope swings, hanging nets, wobbly bridges, scrambling walls, ziplines and other sky-high surprises are among the obstacles for the adult courses. The circuits feature a variety of skill level and heights and are clearly delineated by a color coded system based on skill and elevation levels.
Guests can complete check-in, a safety briefing, a demonstration course and all four adult courses in about three hours. Courses are completed from easiest to hardest, and guests are able to descend at any point along the courses.
While adult admission covers one loop on each of their four courses, kids are allowed to do three loops of their course, which is designed for children ages 7 and up. Guides fit children into harnesses and teach them how to safely use the park’s child-sized ziplines, equipment and safety lines. Parent supervision is required throughout, and parents, though on the ground, will have many opportunities to observe and photograph their kids in action.
Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course is located just outside of the city in the Historic Fort Tuthill County Park. Guests are encouraged to make reservations for their day and time in advance. Ticket prices are $42 for adults completing the full course, $35 for adults completing half of the course, $25 for children and $45 for unescorted minors who want to experience the adult courses with a Flagstaff Extreme guide. Ten percent discounts are available for groups of eight or more; military with an ID; college students with an ID; and senior citizens. Senior citizens ages 75 years and older receive a discount equal to their age.
