Beginning Feb. 14, the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth will present “Andy Warhol: The Last Decade,” which will be the first North Texas exhibition of Andy Warhol’s work in decades as well as the first U.S. museum exhibition to explore the work produced during Warhol’s final years, according to the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
The exhibition, which runs through May 16, will feature nearly 50 works by Warhol and examine the way in which he worked simultaneously with painting and screened images in his late work. Created amidst the bustle of Warhol’s pop celebrity, the works included will illustrate the artist’s vitality, energy and renewed spirit of experimentation. During his final years, Warhol produced more works, in a greater number of series, than at any other time.
“Andy Warhol: The Last Decade” will be guest curated by Joseph D. Ketner II, the Lois and Henry Foster chair in contemporary art at Emerson College, Boston.
