The Idaho Botanical Garden, located in Boise, Idaho, is throwing its Grow the Garden Party on Friday, Oct. 7. The evening promises a buffet of locally-sourced, Idaho food, drinks, music, dancing and silent and live auctions. The evening benefits the nonprofit organization’s Children’s Adventure Garden, one of the many gardens visitors can enjoy on the premises.
The evening’s food will be provided by Bon Appetit magazine. Highlights of the menu include ginger soy Idaho sturgeon canape served on a crisp wonton chip with wasabi aioli and micro greens; wild mushroom risotto cakes topped with lacquered bacon and shaved Ballard truffle cheddar; and red wine braised short rib sliders with caramelized onions, fresh horseradish aioli and red wine reduction served on an Idaho potato roll.
Music will be by Steve Eaton and special guests including saxophonist Phil Garonzik and DJ Joe Norbe.
The event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are $60 per person and are available online by Wednesday, Sept. 28.
