Hot off the presses comes a new book designed to help beer lovers and biking buffs explore Portland in fitting fashion.
Called Hop in the Saddle: A Guide to Portland's Craft Beer Scene, by Bike, it guides travelers through Portland in pursuit of two of the city’s great loves.
Released in December 2012, the book is co-authored by local insiders Lucy Burningham, a nationally published beer and travel writer, and Ellee Thalheimer, a cycle touring guidebook author and publisher.
Their third partner, Laura Cary, is a designer who has given the book stylish appeal, filling the pages with playful graphics and maps from cover to cover.
Even for travelers who are less apt to explore by bike, the book serves as a curated guide to the city’s breweries. It's the first of its kind to focus on Portland as well as its distinctive neighborhoods.
