In response to New Mexico's increasing number of abandoned horses, the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa has developed the Tamaya Horse Rehabilitation Program.
"The Tamaya Horse Rehabilitation Meeting Experience will allow group guests to take part in the horse rehabilitation process and make a major difference in the life of these incredible animals," said Troy Wood, director of sales and marketing at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa. "Throughout the meeting program, guests will take part in an enrichment experience that will give the horses in the program a second chance."
Group guests will get to assist professional wranglers at the Stables of Tamaya with training, grooming and interacting with the horses; building stables; mucking stables and more. Participants will have the additional opportunity to take part in group horseback rides along the Rio Grande and a team-building rodeo with the wranglers.
After the program, all participants will continue to be updated on the horses' condition and progress online and via live web cam video. Guests who contribute to the program will also get to name one of the horses.
