Hotel Andaluz, formerly La Posada de Albuquerque, in Albuquerque, N.M., has consumed an average of 770,000 gallons of water less per month than its predecessor, due to the hotel’s $30 million renovation, which was completed in 2009.
In addition to utilizing oxygen-assisted shower leads, dual flush toilets and captured rainwater for landscape irrigation to save water, the hotel utilizes building energy control systems, LED and compact fluorescent interior lighting, guestroom bamboo furnishings and a 73 panel solar thermal system — all of which are a part of the hotel’s efforts to keep its commitment to being one of the most eco-conscious hotels in the country.
