Idaho Offers Ski Packages for Winter

With more than 20,000 skiable acres, Idaho is a popular winter destination for skiers and snowboarders alike. The state’s 18 ski locations offer terrains for all levels, as well as Nordic trails and picturesque mountain views. For the 2010-2011 ski season, a number of Idaho’s family-friendly ski resorts are offering affordable skiing and lodging packages.

Sun Valley Resort
Sun Valley Resort, heading into its 75th winter season, is offering a new Stay and Ski Free Package. Between Dec. 21 and March 27, 2011, travelers can stay and ski for $129 per night, based on double occupancy.

Lookout Pass
Lookout Pass Ski and Recreation Area in North Idaho is also celebrating its 75th anniversary and is offering a value-added package. The Let’s Just Ski and Stay at the Wallace Inn promotion includes a deluxe room and two adult Lookout Pass lift tickets for $114 on Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and for $129 on Fridays, Saturdays and holiday periods. Free ski lessons for children and teens from ages 6 to 17 years old are also offered every Saturday starting on Jan. 8, 2011. Pre-registration is suggested.

Brundage Mountain
With the Stay Three Nights and Get Your Fourth Free with Shore Lodge and Brundage package, skiers who stay three nights at Shore Lodge get their fourth night free in addition to four lift tickets to Brundage Mountain. The promotion also includes complimentary shuttle services and is available from Dec. 1 through March 31, 2011. The package is priced at $619 for two guests and a single supplement is also available.

Schweitzer Mountain
Travelers can explore popular Schweitzer Mountain with the Two-Night Lodge Room Get Away. Offered through March 15, 2011, the package includes accommodations for two nights at the Western Pleasure Ranch, one day of skiing at Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort and ranch-style breakfasts in the mornings. The package is also available with a one-night option, valid before Dec. 20 or after Jan. 1, 2011. The two-night package is priced at $325 per couple, and a one-night stay is priced at $215 per person.

Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area
Located north of downtown Boise, Bogus Basin is notable for its 165 acres of night skiing terrain. Boise lodging spot, Candlewood Suites, is now offering a buy-one, get one-free package for clients buying a ticket to Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Aream and staying at Candlewood Suites. The package is being offered from Dec.16-31 and starts at $65 per person.

Tamarack Ski Resort
Tamarack Ski Resort, known for its world-class skiing, is now giving travelers the opportunity to ski and stay for three nights starting at $325 per person, based on a family of four. The package includes a three-night stay in a two-bedroom cottage, a lodge condo or a townhouse. Also included is a three-day lift ticket for each guests and rental equipment for three days.

Silver Mountain Resort
Silver Mountain in Kellogg is home to Silver Rapids, Idaho’s largest indoor waterpark. The Silver Mountain Resort is offering a Ski, Surf and Stay at Silver Mountain Resort package that includes lift tickets to ski or snowboard all-day on the mountain, unlimited access to Silver Rapids and a one-night stay in a luxury condominium. The package starts at $89.75 per night, based on quadruple occupancy (two adults and two children). The family-friendly package will be offered through April 4, 2011.
