Aqua Hotels and Resorts' Island Colony Hotel has emerged as a reinvented Waikiki property with a new name following a $6 million renovation and upgrade. Now called Aqua Skyline at Island Colony, the hotel boasts a significantly upgraded guest experience that includes completely refurbished guest rooms.
"Given the dramatic difference in overall guest experience, we felt it appropriate to rebrand this property with a name that more closely reflects the look and feel of the hotel," said Elizabeth Churchill, Aqua's senior vice president sales and marketing.
Aqua Skyline at Island Colony's new rooms feature a contemporary design in a palate of green and silver. Changes include wenge-colored cabinets and furniture, granite counter tops, flat screen LCD TVs, new tile in bathrooms and kitchenettes, and upgraded bedding and linens.
Studios and suites come with a kitchenette with microwave, stove-top, coffeemaker, toaster and mini-refrigerator. Other hotel amenities include a renovated pool, jet spa, sundeck, barbecue area, convenience store, coin-operated laundry, WiFi Internet access and car rental services.
Additional renovations to the common areas will follow the rooms, with an expected completion date of February 2013.
The hotel is located in the heart of Waikiki, two blocks from the beach and near the International Marketplace.
