Guests to Wyoming have another reason to visit Jackson Hole — a brand-new Bike Park from Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and Gravity Logic, a trail sculpting company, has opened among lush aspen and pine forests adjacent to the Grand Teton National Park. In the place of rocky descents, the Bike Park boasts terrain suitable for all levels, including beginners.
“We wanted to build a playground for riders at every stage of the game,” said Ranyon D’Arge, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Park and Pipe Supervisor. “We have a lot of experience riding powder in the winter, so we wanted to create a similar mountain bike experience that was effortless and fluid — just what makes riding powder such a blast.”
Smooth trail beds, contoured banked corners and buffed landings, wooden bridges and jumps of varying sizes are among the features of the six trails, which are ranked from easiest to most difficult.
“It’s like being in the perpetual sweet spot of the trail,” said D’Arge. “On most of the beginner and intermediate trails you hardly need to pedal or brake — you just flow. It’s the ultimate downhill ride.”
Guests can visit The Jackson Hole Bike Park on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Sept. 5, and on weekends from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout September. Bike rentals are available at the base in JH Sports, and lessons and clinics are offered throughout the summer. A day pass costs $25 and season passes start at $169 for the winter season and $249 for other seasons.
