Las Cruces is welcoming Tour De Beers, its first annual beer festival. The event will take place at the Southern New Mexico State Fairgrounds on July 28-29 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. each day. Complementing the domestic and international brews will be live music, vendors, arts and crafts and food.
“We want folks to taste their way around the world and do a little tour of the Fairgrounds in the process,” said festival organizer Dawn Sarotska. “We’ll do this again next year so if you don’t taste them all, that’s okay.”
More than 30 breweries will be offering samples including Blue Moon Brewing Company, Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company, Boston Beer Company and New Mexico’s own Rio Grande Brewing Company. Live entertainment from local bands Beans & Crackers, Nosotros, The Liars and Taxi Cab Drivers will provide the soundtrack for the event.
Admission prices include a souvenir glass and ticket book for tastings. Prices are $12 for advance tickets and $15 at the door. All adults must present a valid photo ID. Children under 21 are free and must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
