Iconic Los Angeles hotel, the Hotel Bel-Air, will reopen in July 2011 following a 22-month-long extensive renovation and redesign. The renovations included the addition of a new reception area and boutique; a new lobby lounge; a redesign of all guestrooms, suites and bathrooms; 12 new hillside accommodations; a spa; and three guest lofts located within the spa building itself. When the hotel reopens, it will offer a total of 103 guestrooms and suites. The hotel’s brand-new spa will encompass a total of 12,000 square feet and will also house a 24-hour fitness center.
In addition to guest accommodations, the hotel’s public areas and dining venues have also been updated. The Terrace will now feature a year-round separate bar and The Grand Ballroom and pre-function rooms of the hotel will be reconfigured to host a total of 228 people. A new high-speed Wi-Fi network will also be installed on the property, as will a new voice over IP system and a new television system that allows guests to set a wake-up call, order room service, check their bills, control their room temperature and adjust their mood lighting from their bedside. A new iPhone interface on site will also allow iPhone users to do the same functions from their personal iPhone mobile phones. Each guestroom will also be outfitted with brand-new Bang & Olufsen high-definition flat-screen televisions.
