The distinctively Pacific Northwest McMenamins hotel group is continuing to extend its network by readying its first Oregon Coast property: the Gearhart Hotel.
With the opening of the new hotel over Memorial Day weekend, fans of McMenamins' signature blend of art, history, music, brewing and affordability can enjoy the company's hotel experience from the city to the sea.
The Gearhart Hotel is built into the stately Kelly House, home of McMenamins’ existing Sand Trap Pub and adjacent to Gearhart Golf Links. Built in 1892, the course is one of the oldest links west of the Mississippi.
The boutique hotel consists of 18 rooms with en suite bathrooms, decorated in a Pacific Northwest coastal style with McMenamins’ signature artwork. Room rates start at $125 per night.
Located one-and-one-half-hour west of Portland, the peaceful north coast town of Gearhart served as the longtime vacation home of culinary icon James Beard.
