Mar 09, 2010

Triple Creek Ranch // (c) Triple Creek Ranch

Triple Creek Ranch, a Relais & Chateaux resort on 600 acres set against the backdrop of the Montana Rockies, invites guests for its third annual Spring Roundup and its seventh annual Spring Vintners Series this May and June.

Guests are invited to saddle up cowboy-style with Triple Creek Ranch’s five-day, four-night Spring Roundup package, scheduled May 2-6, which includes a day of learning cowboy basics, a day of learning to brand cattle and a rodeo day.

Accompanied by Triple Creek Ranch wranglers and Jimmy, the local hatter, guests can learn the parts of the horse, how to catch and saddle a horse and how to mount and ride a horse. Triple Creek cowboys also demonstrate rope handling, with on-the-job roping lessons available. The itinerary also includes Branding Day and Rodeo Day, where guests can herd and sort the cows, and aspiring ranchers can hone their skills in timed events such as barrel racing and pole bending. The four-night itinerary rates range from $3,150 for a cedar cabin to $4,350 for a luxury cabin, per couple.

For those looking to indulge in serious wines from leading U.S. vintners, Triple Creek Ranch offers its seventh annual four-day, three-night Spring Vintner Series package, scheduled May 14-17, 20-23, 27-30 and June 3-6. Each weekend includes wine tastings with visiting vintners, wine pairing dinners, plus outdoor and indoor activities ranging from fly-fishing and horseback riding to couple’s massages. An award-winning winery will be showcased on each of the four weekends, including Flora Springs, a three-generation, family-run vintner; Chappellet, known for their award-winning Cabernets; Koenig Vineyards, producer of hand-crafted varietal wines in Idaho’s Snake River Valley; and Fidelitas, a vintner loyal to Bordeaux’s winemaking techniques renowned for its Cabernet Sauvignon. Rates begin at $1,950 per couple, based on double occupancy for the three-night weekend.
