St. Helena’s Harvest Inn, in Napa, Calif., offers a pampering solution to this situation with its new Wine Country Slumber Party – Unplugged. The Slumber Party begins at check-in when friends surrender their gadgets and digital gear for safekeeping in one of the hotel’s individual safety deposit boxes. Guests are then free to indulge in long-overdue conversations with a private, one-hour reception featuring local wines and cheeses in the Inn’s Great Room.

The bonding continues during a private, five-hour wine country tour with exclusive tastings at three Harvest Inn-preferred winery partners. Tastings include samples of special vintages available only at the winery, accompanied by light appetizers. The day includes a private picnic lunch at award-winning Markham Vineyards. One of the Valley’s oldest and most beautiful wineries, Markham’s lovely gardens and gallery are the perfect place to spend time with friends.

The next day, guests surrender to relaxation with a 60-minute massage treatment of choice in the massage therapy room, in an al fresco cabana located in the inn’s private redwood grove or in the visitor’s guestroom for an additional charge. Later, guests can shop the boutiques on St. Helena’s charming Main Street, relax by the inn’s sparkling swimming pools or stroll the inn’s eight acres of gardens, fountains and ponds.

The two-night package includes King Vineyard View accommodations, a chilled bottle of Schramsberg sparkling wine and handmade Woodhouse chocolates. The guestroom features a wood-burning fireplace, oversized bathroom and a patio overlooking the adjacent vineyards and Mayacamas Mountains. Each girlfriend can keep one of the inn’s plush bathrobes as a Wine Country Slumber Party – Unplugged memento.

The Wine Country Slumber Party – Unplugged package starts at $1,999 for two nights, based on double occupancy, not including taxes and gratuities. The package also includes a daily breakfast, on-site parking, unlimited access to the fitness center and two heated swimming pools. The inn also has complimentary Wi-Fi access but, according to the inn, use of this amenity is discouraged with the “unplugged” package.
