Travel Lane County recently released its first edition of the Eugene, Cascades and Coast Adventure Guide. The 28-page full-color illustrated guide maps out ten adventure routes, including the Oregon Coast, Highways 36 and 126, Oregon Wine Country, Cottage Grove, Willamette River Paths, Urban Parks and Trails, Parks Galore, Hoghway. 58, Aufderheide and McKenzie River.
Routes highlight wildlife viewing areas, trails, boat launches, waterways, parks, ski areas, covered bridges, vineyards, bike paths and more. Maps, amenities, directions, descriptions, guide services, rental resources and information centers are featured throughout the guide to make it easy for adventure-seekers to find a variety of scenic, historic, natural and recreational sites within each designated area of the county.
The project was made possible by a grant from the Oregon Tourism Commission.
Free guides are being distributed at state welcome centers, airports and rest areas. Guides are also available at the Eugene, Cascades and Coast Adventure Center at 3312 Gateway St. in Springfield, the Downtown Visitor Center at 754 Olive St. in Eugene, or by calling Travel Lane County at 541-484-5307.
An online version of the guide incorporates interactive Google maps, allowing users to tailor driving directions for their route. Clients can access the online version or download a PDF of the printable guide.
