A new tour of California’s famed Napa Valley takes clients to the eastern side of the winemaking region for a behind-the-scenes glimpse into a family winery, followed by a ride onboard the historic Napa Valley Wine Train for lunch. The new tour is a joint partnership between family-owned Raymond Vineyards and the Napa Valley Wine Train.
The Valley First tour, which begins at 10:15 a.m. and finishes at 2:30 p.m., includes a visit to Raymond Vineyards for a 90-minute tasting and winemaking tour, followed by a two-hour ride onboard the Napa Valley Wine Train, including a three-course gourmet lunch. At the winery, tour participants are introduced to the family’s history and organic farming practices, sampling Sauvignon Blanc and various other wines and grapes. The antique train, which runs on 25 miles of track in the heart of the Napa Valley, features three onboard kitchens and a collection of early 20th-century rail cars, as well as hard-to-find wines.
The cost for the tour is $139 per person, including the winery tour, bus transportation, lunch, sales taxes and train fares.
