After last year's tremendous success with the Hollywood Hop-on, Hop-off bus, Starline Tours has recently introduced a new bus tour for visitors wanting to experience Downtown LA’s unique attractions.
The London style double-decker bus tour is narrated and has 13 stops where guests can hop-on and hop-off in Downtown LA for a 24- or 48-hour period from the time they begin using their tickets. As part of the new service and at no extra cost, Starline Tours will connect the Downtown LA route with the Hollywood Hop-on, Hop-off tour using a shuttle service between Hollywood and Downtown LA. This will make it possible for visitors to sightsee through Los Angeles from Beverly Hills (the westernmost stop on the tour) to Downtown LA, all on one Starline Tours Hop-on, Hop-off ticket.
“This bus tour is another indication that Downtown Los Angeles is once again becoming a destination spot for Angelenos and tourists alike,” said Councilman José Huizar, who is spearheading the Bringing Back Broadway Initiative aimed at revitalizing the historic Broadway Corridor. “From the birthplace of the City to the amazing historic theaters to great entertainment and cultural opportunities, Downtown is the place to be and people will enjoy experiencing that on the double-decker bus.”
LA INC. The Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau will be selling tickets for Starline Tours Hop-on, Hop-off service at its Visitor Information Centers in Downtown LA (685 S. Figueroa) and Hollywood (6801 Hollywood Blvd.). 24-hour tickets cost $30. 48-hour tickets cost $40 for adults and $30 for children. Family ticket packages covering transportation for 2 adults and up to 3 children cost $90 (24 hours) or $125 (48 hours).
Starline Tours has been operating in Los Angeles since 1935, and is offering hop-on, hop-off bus tours of Downtown LA so that riders can visit the Civic Center’s cultural and architectural icons at their leisure. The Downtown LA tour will begin at Olvera Street, the site of El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument. Among the tour stops are the Civic Center, Walt Disney Concert Hall, the historic movie theatersalong Broadway, the Los Angeles Central Library, STAPLES Center and the L.A. LIVE entertainment district.
