New Tram Debuts at Jackson Hole This December

Dec 16, 2008

December 2008 heralds the debut of a brand-new, record-breaking tram at Wyoming’s Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. The new tram boasts the largest continual vertical rise of any lift — 4,139 feet — at a U.S. ski resort, and will officially be unveiled to the public on the weekend of Dec. 19. To celebrate, the resort is hosting a number of activities and many of its properties are offering special packages and promotions for clients.

On Friday, Dec. 19, at Teton Village, the New Nick Wilson’s is hosting an après ski event with live music and drink specials on Snake River Brewery’s newest brew, Big Red Ale, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Immediately following, from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m., the new tram care will be unveiled to the public, along with a fireworks display. An after party at the Mangy Moose follows, which includes live music.

On Saturday, Dec. 20, an opening ceremony will be held at the tram dock and special guests will be invited to ride of six celebratory first cars. At 11 a.m., public access to the tram commences.

To get clients there, a number of properties are offering tram-specific packages in conjunction with the unveiling.
