Outrigger is courting participants and fans of this year’s 16th annual Xterra World Championship with an array of affordable accommodation options for runners and spectators of the Maui race. Athletes and their entourage can take advantage of trailblazing discounts starting at $135 per night.
Set for Oct. 23, 2011, the premiere off-road triathlon is making its northwest Maui debut this year. The new course at Kapalua Resort covers a 1.5-kilometer rough-water swim at D.T. Fleming Beach, a 30k mountain bike on the lower slopes of the West Maui Mountains and a 10k trail run. On Oct. 22, XTERRA is also hosting 5k and 10k trail runs that are open to everyone.
