After a year of record snowfall in the 2004-2005 season, Salt
Lake resorts are making it easier and more affordable to hit the
slopes this winter with a multi-area lift voucher called the Ski
Salt Lake Super Pass.
Now in its fourth season, the pass offers clients the ability to
ski at multiple Salt Lake-area resorts for less money than an
individual lift pass. Super Pass rates for this season are $46 and
include transportation to and from the slopes from Salt Lake
City.
New for the 2005-2006 season, Super Passes are available as a
multi-use card. These cards can be loaded with one to five days of
skiing and are valid for a seven-day period. This gives clients the
value of multi-day ticketing that was previously unavailable.
“The average window rate at the four Salt Lake resorts is
$52.35. And with bus fare included, a day without a Super Pass runs
about $59.25, so it’s a terrific value, especially when you add up
a week’s worth of skiing,” said Eric Thompson, director of winter
sports tourism for the Salt Lake Convention and Visitors
Bureau.
Agents can sell passes by contacting the bureau. Once they have
log-on information, a Super Pass can be printed or a voucher can be
e-mailed directly to clients who can then print the pass. Printed
vouchers can be redeemed at any ticket window at the four
participating resorts; Alta Ski Area, Brighton Resort, Snowbird Ski
and Summer Resort and Solitude Mountain Resort. Passes are the same
rate year-round with no blackout dates.
