Aloft Portland Airport at Cascade Station has been named Aloft Hotel of the Year, an honor bestowed to just one property each year out of some 40 Aloft hotels worldwide. The Starwood Excellence Awards take place every spring and its Hotel of the Year award is given to the top hotel in each of Starwood’s collection of nine hotel brands – including such names as W Hotels, Sheraton, Westin and more.
“We applaud Aloft Portland’s efforts at becoming one of the newest destination sensations in Portland,” said Brian McGuinness, Starwood's senior vice president of specialty select brands. “Aloft is truly a special brand, and Aloft Portland exemplifies all that is unique about the vibrant guest experience found at our hotels.”
The best hotel in each of Starwood’s eight hotel brands is selected by reviewing the properties’ guest satisfaction index, quality assurance, sales and marketing initiatives and branding, in order to demonstrate overall lodging excellence. In addition to the Hotel of the Year award, Aloft Portland also took home Starwood’s Tiffany Award for overall guest satisfaction.

Aloft Portland Airport at Cascade Station opened as the first Aloft in the Pacific Northwest in late 2008 and continues to successfully represent the brand while offering guests a uniquely regional experience, such as local microbrews on tap and a fleet of bikes for guests to use during their stay. Clients can socialize over a drink and a game of pool in the lobby or escape to their guest rooms for a good night’s sleep before going out – by MAX light rail, bike or car – and exploring the city of Portland.
The hotel is situated next to Cascade Station on Portland’s light rail network, connecting guests to both the Portland International Airport and downtown. The location offers access to Portland’s business areas and corporate offices as well as its many attractions, such as the city’s restaurant scene, the Tom McCall Waterfront Park, theaters, art galleries, local microbreweries and the Shops at Cascade Station, a tax-free shopping complex adjacent to the hotel.
