Santa Fe winters are generally known for skiing and other snow sports in the nearby Rocky Mountains but, this year, the city wants to make it known that there are many more activities for visitors to take part in. Historic Santa Fe will transform into the location of a city-wide festival from Feb. 18-27 as part of the city’s first Winter Fiesta. Each day will feature special activities or savings all around the city. A Fiesta Lanyard will be sold to guests and residents for $20, and will serve as their key to the city’s special deals. The lanyard will offer valued prices at many participating restaurants, shops and cultural landmarks and are on sale now online.
Restaurants, city attractions and local shops are all coming together to get ready for the winter celebration during Santa Fe Winter Fiesta, 2011. Lodging and lift tickets at Ski Santa Fe, along with meal specials, museum shop discounts and free entrance into many of the evening fiesta parties are among the great deals offered to those in the area. The Fiesta Kick Off on Friday, Feb. 18 will be the first of many activities highlighting the local scene with its night-long Live 505 Bar Crawl complete with a variety of specials at local restaurants and bars for the evening. There are also plenty of family-friendly activities to take part in, such as the GPS Snowshoe Scavenger Hunt.
Santa Fe truly celebrates all of its surrounding beauty and culture with events highlighting its natural resources including a Moonlight Cross-Country Ski trip in the awe-inspiring Valles Caldera and a Guided Native American Cultural Tour to Puye Cliffs. The last three days of Santa Fe’s Winter Fiesta will celebrate the city’s artistic talents with the 14th Annual ARTfeast. The event is always a town favorite because of its Edible Art Tour, fashion luncheons and Artists’ Champagne Brunch and Auction, just to name a few.
