The Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa recently broke ground on a ballroom expansion that will add 35,300 square-feet to the resort’s business meeting space. Set for completion in June of 2009, the new area will feature an impressive 15,000 square-foot ballroom, two spacious meeting rooms and a foyer designed for pre-function socializing.
Designed by Jacobs Carter Burgess, the expanded ballroom will allow the Sheraton to host up to 900-person meetings and provide lodging in the resort’s 500 culturally-themed guest rooms. The new architecture, designed by Mr. Burgess, celebrates the heritage of the region’s Gila River Indian community. For example, the meeting area’s round foyer harkens back to the traditional Pima roundhouse and honors the customs of the Pima and Maricopa tribes.
The Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa also offers a 17,500 square-foot Aji Spa, 36 holes of golf at the Whirlwind Golf Club, a 1,000 acre equestrian center and boat cruise to the Wild Horse Pass Casino and Rawhide Western theme town.
