Though better known for its winter role, the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s aerial tram has a summer season as well. From Memorial Day weekend through October, the tram will provide a convenient way up to the top of Rendezvous Mountain for stunning views and access to several hiking trails.
Recommended hikes from the tram include the 7.2-mile Summit Trail, with wide open views and a single-track descent into Teton Village or the 10-mile hike into Granite Canyon Teton National Park, which houses moose, waterfalls and avalanche paths. For more adventurous hikers, the path from Marion Lake into Granite Canyon is 15 miles and has the steepest climb but also features fabulous lakeside scenery and wildlife.
The tram covers the 7.2 miles up to Rendevous Summit in nine minutes, allowing hikers to put their energy into enjoying the trip down.
