Seattle Art Museum's newest exhibit features 50 contemporary wearable sculptures, or Soundsuits, as Chicago-based artist Nick Cave refers to them. Called Nick Cave: Meet Me at the Center of the Earth, the display includes four galleries of new Soundsuits never seen before in a museum setting.
The human-scale Soundsuits are poised in a fashion runway of sorts, organized by materials and typology. There are also two galleries of Cave's media works, in which the artist enables ordinary objects to transform before your eyes.
Additionally, Soundsuit performances and invasions are surprising residents of the Puget Sound region in unexpected locations during the run of the show.
Visitors can see the exhibit through June 5, 2011.
