Pointe South Mountain Resort, a 220-acre mountainside property near Phoenix, is offering special packages through December in its recently renovated suites. For $299 per night, the Customer Choice package offers one of the following for each night booked: one round of golf at the Phantom Horse Golf Club, a one-hour massage at the spa, a private tennis lesson or dinner at one of the resort’s five restaurants.

The Unlimited Golf package, at $109 per night, includes a suite and unlimited golf at the Phantom Horse Golf Club.

The Occasions package, for $199 per night, includes romance turndown service with champagne, automatic upgrade to the Concierge Lounge with gourmet food samplings, including breakfast, lunch and evening hors d’oeuvres.

The Guaranteed Hit tennis package, at $119 per night, includes one tennis lesson each day, daily match play, unlimited court time and a 20% discount on Pro Shop merchandise.

The Oasis, the resort’s recently installed 6-acre water park, features one of the nation’s tallest water slides.

Golfers can tee it up on La Paloma’s 27-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course in Tucson, starting at $259 per night for one player and $339 for two players. From Nov. 15 to Jan. 11, 2003, the Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa is offering its Nicklaus Golf Getaway, which includes a recently renovated guest room with a private patio or a balcony and a Heavenly Bed. The resort includes the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa, three swimming pools, the Tennis & Health Center and five diverse restaurants.

La Paloma’s Sonoran Escape is priced from $179 per night from Nov. 15 through Jan. 11, 2003. Children stay free year-round.

L’Auberge de Sedona, considered to be one of the most romantic properties in the red rock country, is offering a special Cottage Celebration to introduce its recently refurbished cottages. The $750 to $800 per night package includes two nights of accommodations, a breakfast for two and a four-course dinner for two in one of the L’Auberge restaurants.

The 33 intimate cottages, two restaurants and a 22-room lodge are spread throughout 11 acres in a creekside canyon in Sedona.

From October through April 2003, the Lodge at Ventana Canyon, in Tucson, is introducing new three-day Ralston Tennis Camps, designed by Dennis Ralston, Wimbledon champion and former coach of Chris Evert and Gabriela Sabatini. Camps include three nights of accommodations in a suite and daily breakfast, eight hours of instruction, three hours of supervised play and court time and match arrangement.

The Canyon Ranch Tucson Anniversary Savings package gives a 10% discount on stays of six nights or fewer and 15% for seven or more nights. Recently voted the best spa for services in the world by Travel & Leisure magazine, the resort, offers all-inclusive healthy vacations in Southwest-style rooms. Included are gourmet meals and more than 225 programs featuring fitness consultations, hiking, biking, a 62,000-square-foot spa and workshops.

Rates start at $2,207, single, for a four-night package and $3,653, single, for a seven-night package, all subject to the 10% to 15% discount through December.

Several seven-night specialty programs are on the agenda, including Journey Through Midlife: A Women’s Retreat (Nov. 3-10), and Sex: Body & Soul (Nov. 13-17).
