Based on the much-loved animated film, Aladdin: The New Stage Musical is having its world premiere at the 5th Avenue Theatre in downtown Seattle from July 7-31, 2011.
Aladdin tells the story of a street-smart commoner whose whole life changes with one rub of a magic lamp.
Broadway star Jonathan Freeman, who originated the role of the notorious villain Jafar, joins the stage production, which incorporates all the beloved songs from the film’s Oscar-winning score.
With music by eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, the new stage musical also features never-before-heard Menken/Ashman songs restored from early drafts of the score.
