The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort has hired Daniele Tonin to be the new head chef at Sea Breeze, the hotel’s beach-view restaurant. Chef Tonin has created a new menu for Sea Breeze, featuring contemporary cuisine with Italian influences that can be enjoyed in the restaurant’s relaxed bistro environment.
“We are pleased to welcome Daniele to the resort’s culinary team as chef of Sea Breeze,” said Carl Emberson, general manager. “His experience creating an array of cuisines for the discerning guests from Mexico to Shanghai is a perfect complement to the St. Regis Punta Mita Resort’s unparalleled culinary offerings.”
Chef Tonin’s prior experience includes his most recent position at Da Marco Italian Restaurant in Shanghai, as well as an executive sous chef position at the Presidente InterContinental Hotel Cozumel Resort & Spa Mexico, where he fostered the culinary program at the Alfredo di Roma Italian restaurant.
Sea Breeze prides itself on featuring fresh, hand-selected ingredients, including local seafood, organic produce and top-of-the-line prime Black Angus beef. Chef Tonin’s new menu, inspired by his passion for both Italian cuisine and his new coastal setting, is comprised of homemade pastas, al fresco dishes and an assortment of seafood.
