Kauai Hotel Changes Hands and Brands

Dec 04, 2010
After a recent ownership change, the former Aston Kauai Beach at Makaiwa Hotel is now called Courtyard by Marriott Kauai at Coconut Beach, managed by the Davidson Hotel Company. Officials at the oceanfront 311-room property have announced plans for a multimillion-dollar renovation lasting 18 months. Watch for upgrades to the property’s exterior spaces, including new landscaping and a reconfigured pool. In addition, all public areas will be renovated. Overlooking Waipouli Beach on Kauai’s east side, the property — located a 10-minute drive from the island’s Lihue Airport — features a day spa, tennis court, fitness facility, business center, oceanview restaurant, poolside lounge and 8,300 square feet of meeting space.
