WhatNorthstar Travel Group (NTG), parent company of TravelAge West, has acquired travel technology website Tnooz and its related assets to further accelerate development of Phocuswright’s PhocusWire media property. Tnooz will be merged with PhocusWire through the end of 2018.
Why It MattersThe acquisition shows the rapid impact on the travel, tourism and hospitality sector that PhocusWire has achieved in the 12 months since its launch at The Phocuswright Conference 2017, the premier conference for executives across the travel technology industry. Once the merger is complete, the resulting content will be an even more valuable resource for travel advisors.
Fast Facts - Tnooz will be merged with PhocusWire by the end of 2018; its content archive, many of its signature products and long-standing editorial focus on online travel and travel technology will be retained by the PhocusWire team.
- U.S.-based Tnooz was founded in 2009 and is an important leader in news coverage of the online travel business, including the pioneering of early industry hackathons and the profiling of hundreds of industry startups.
- Phocuswright is the travel industry research authority on how travelers, suppliers and intermediaries connect. PhocusWire is a media service that covers the world of digital travel with a range of news, analysis, commentary and opinion from across the travel, tourism and hospitality sectors.
- NTG is the owner of brands including Travel Weekly, TravelAge West, Business Travel News, Successful Meetings, Meetings & Conventions, Travel Weekly China, Incentive, M&C China and Web in Travel. The company produces more than 75 face-to-face events in 13 countries in retail travel, hospitality, corporate travel, travel technology, sports travel and the meetings industry.
