Mexican resort company Vidanta has announced its entry into cruising. The maiden voyage of Vidanta Cruises’ first ship, Vidanta Elegant, will sail along the Mexico coastline this fall. Itinerary details are still being determined.

The launch of Vidanta Cruises marks Mexico’s first luxury cruise line. Vidanta Cruises will also offer guests a chance to check in once and split their trip between Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta and Vidanta Elegant. This unique land-and-sea combination concept gives travel advisors an exciting new option for clients who are looking to do more on their vacations.
Fast Facts
- Vidanta Elegant will have a capacity of 298 passengers, with 149 staterooms and suites and a one-to-one passenger-to-crew ratio. Guests will also have a Personal Concierge assigned to their cabin.
- The new ship will be 153 meters long and 15,396 gross tons. It will have six public decks and dining areas, 11 bars and lounges, an entertainment venue, a full-service spa and fitness center, a top-deck pool and several Jacuzzis.
- Vidanta Elegant will also feature two signature chefs: Chef Eric Pansu, named Best Chef in France, and Pastry Chef Pascal Molines, named Best Pastry Chef in France and World Pastry Chef Champion.
