The Hawaii Food and Wine Festival was such a success last year that organizers are already promoting the 2012 edition. Slated for Sept. 6-9, the appetizing affair features a roster of renowned master chefs who showcase innovative dishes prepared with locally-sourced produce, seafood, beef, poultry and other ingredients. Complementing the victuals are food-enhancing libations from vintners, sommeliers and mixologists.
The event’s singular dining experiences take place at the Modern Honolulu, Halekulani, Hilton Hawaiian Village and Ko Olina Resort. Chefs Roy Yamaguchi and Alan Wong serve as co-chairs of the festival, which last year raised $250,000 for the Hawaii Agricultural Foundation and University of Hawaii Culinary Institute of the Pacific. www.hawaiifoodandwinefestival.com
