Melia Hotels International recently announced plans to open 23 new hotels in 2017. The aggressive growth will include five new hotels in Europe; six in Latin America and the Caribbean; three in the Middle East; six in Asia and the South Pacific; and three in Africa. Also in the lineup is the brand’s first sustainable hotel, Melia Serengeti Lodge. Additionally, the company has signed two new Innside by Melia Hotels in Amsterdam and Paris. Last year, Melia also grew substantially, opening 19 new hotels in 10 countries.
