This summer, Regent Seven Seas Cruises is launching a new
individual headphone system intended to enhance the guided portions
of land tours and shore excursions. The new system, which includes
a small microphone, allows guides to communicate with guests in a
clear, effective and engaging fashion that reaches beyond the range
of normal speaking.
The lightweight headsets, which were designed in Italy, are
especially useful at historical and religious landmarks where loud
conversation is inappropriate. With this new technology, Seven
Seas’ guides and expert lecturers can better share their insight
and historical knowledge with cruise guests. The headsets are
disposable and individually packaged, so that guests will receive a
new sanitary set on each tour.
In June, the system will debut aboard the 700-guest Seven Seas
Voyager and the 490-guest Seven Seas Navigator, which are both
bound for Europe and the Baltic. In September, 700 guests aboard
the Seven Seas Mariner’s Grand Asia Pacific cruise will also enjoy
the new technology.
“Having our own system allows us to use it across a wide
spectrum of Regent shore excursions and gives us the flexibility to
provide our guests with enlightening information and commentary at
all times,” said Regent Seven Seas’ director of land programs,
Dairus Mehta. “The system represents another first for the Regent
Travel Concierge, giving our guides an intimate and effective way
to provide key details to guests as they tour historic
landmarks.”
