Windstar Cruises’ motor sailing yacht, Wind Surf has emerge from
a multi-million dollar upgrade to add more luxury amenities to its
public spaces and staterooms. The "Degrees of Difference"
enhancements include the addition of two luxury suites to the
Bridge deck for those guests looking for more room to entertain,
bringing the ship's capacity to 312 passengers. At approximately
500 square-feet each, the suites include a living and dining area,
separate bedroom with walk-in closet and a marble bathroom with
whirlpool tub and separate shower. Guests in these new Bridge
Suites will enjoy extra service amenities such as unpacking
service, an invitation to dine with the Captain, laundry and
pressing, evening appetizers, high tea service upon request,
complimentary bottled water in the suite, chilled champagne upon
arrival and additional high-end L’Occitane bath amenities.
All suites and staterooms also received upgrades to enhance the
onboard luxury experience for every guest. The ever-popular teak
floors have been refinished, adding new luster to an antique
nautical style; desks have been resurfaced with granite and
full-length mirrors added to the rooms; in suites, a second flat
panel television and DVD player have been added; and in all
bathrooms, a more contemporary look is accomplished with new
fixtures, open glass shelving, new cabinets, granite countertops
and porcelain sinks. More modern amenities include wireless
internet, already available throughout the ship, and Bose SoundDock
speakers installed in all staterooms. Apple iPod Nanos pre-loaded
with music are available for complimentary check-out and laptops
are available for rent.
The new Yacht Club lounge replaces the library and provides a
comfortable and contemporary space for relaxing and socializing.
Guests can visit the espresso bar for gourmet coffee drinks, access
the internet on the lounge’s eight computers or connect to wireless
internet with their personal laptops, gather to watch special
events on the large flatscreen television, or simply peruse the
library of books, CDs and DVDs available for checkout.
In other areas of the ship, the Bistro has been renamed Degrees,
serving a Splichal-inspired steak house menu four nights a week,
with rotating menus from Italy, France and Indonesia other nights.
The Veranda, serving breakfast and lunch, has extended its outdoor
seating area and added new awnings.
