Following the lead of corporate cousin Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises are putting their sailing restarts on the calendar — both outside the U.S., since the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) still has not permitted regional voyages to resume.

Oceania will first relaunch in Scandinavia and Western Europe, with the Marina scheduled to set sail from Copenhagen on Aug. 29, 2021.

“The entire Oceania Cruises team is excited to now shift our focus to safely restarting operations and ultimately welcoming back our guests to begin exploring the world once again,” said Bob Binder, president and CEO of Oceania Cruises, in a press release.

Meanwhile, in September, Regent will embark again onboard its new Seven Seas Splendor from the U.K. The luxury ship, which was christened back in February 2020, will properly sail its maiden season during its relaunch on Sept. 11, 2021, with an 11-night voyage roundtrip from Southampton, England.

“Come September, we will have the double celebration of our return to the seas as we also recommence the inaugural season of the ship that perfects luxury: Seven Seas Splendor,” said Jason Montague, president and CEO of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, in a press release. “With immaculate design, luxurious suites, exquisite cuisine, dynamic entertainment and outstanding personalized service, Seven Seas Splendor was one of the most highly anticipated ships to launch in the history of cruising, and my promise to our loyal and eager guests is that, without a doubt, she will be worth the wait.”

After calling on Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland on its official inaugural voyage, Splendor will head to the Mediterranean and eventually the Caribbean by early 2022.

Both brands plan to adhere to the parent company’s SailSAFE health and safety protocols, which include the requirement that all guests and crew be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to sailing.

According to the press release, “These protocols will be continuously evolved and refined using the best available science and technology.”
