Disney and Oriental Land Co., Ltd. (OLC) — the company that owns and operates Tokyo Disney Resort — have announced a new agreement that will bring Disney cruise vacations to Japan.
The yet-to-be-named vessel will be built and operated by OLC and will be a sister ship to the already launched Disney Wish and upcoming Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny.

“Disney Cruise Line has ambitious plans to bring family vacations and Disney storytelling to more guests around the world than ever before,” said Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney Experiences. “We are thrilled to continue the success of this expansion as we collaborate with Oriental Land Co. to introduce another distinctly Disney vacation experience to families and fans in Japan.”
Like its sister ships, the fourth vessel in the Triton series will be built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. It is anticipated that the ship will measure in at around 140,000 gross tons to accommodate 1,250 staterooms, all powered by liquefied natural gas and designed by Walt Disney Imagineering. While many popular venues from the class will carry over, other modifications will be made specifically for Japanese guests. The ship will cater to both regional Disney fans and international visitors.
