Recommitting to its Los Angeles “hometown,” Princess Cruises will deploy four ships from the City of Angels, in addition to departures from San Francisco and Seattle, for its 2024-2025 season. And the line also announced the entertainment coming to its soon-to-launch Sun Princess, in addition to naming the second sister ship in the Sphere Class fleet, Star Princess.

Our West Coast expertise ensures our guests from Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle have easy access to some of the most stunning destinations in the world, all at amazing values and just a few minutes’ drive from their homes.
Roundtrip voyages from L.A. will include the Discovery Princess’ seven-day journeys to Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta in the Mexican Riviera itinerary, as well as the ship’s weeklong California coastal routes to Santa Barbara, San Diego and more. Grand Princess and Majestic Princess will also embark on 10-day Baja Peninsula & Sea of Cortez itineraries, featuring more remote ports in Mexico. Grand Princess will also offer 16-day voyages to the Hawaiian Islands of Kauai, Maui, Oahu and the Big Island. Plus, Grand Princess and Sapphire Princess will offer 32- and 33-day sailings to Hawaii, in addition to the South Pacific and Tahiti.
From San Francisco, guests will embark on Ruby Princess for roundtrips to Hawaii, Mexico and the California and Pacific Northwest coasts. For a singular alternative, Ruby will also sail on a 16-day Hawaiian Islands cruise roundtrip further north from Vancouver.
Or from Seattle, Majestic Princess will cover an 11-day roundtrip cruise on a Classic California Coast itinerary calling on San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles and San Diego for a late-night stay.
Sphere Class: Sun Princess and Star Princess
The growing fleet will welcome Sun Princess in early 2024, and onboard will be new contemporary circus shows from Cirque Eloize in the ship’s top-deck, multilevel Dome.
“The Dome is a transformational space that creates a stunning vista with sweeping views of the ocean and creates an unprecedented setting to stage avant-garde spectaculars that will absolutely fascinate our guests,” said Francois Leroux, senior vice president, creative design and entertainment, for Princess. “We’re thrilled to bring this collaboration with Cirque Eloize to life with three original shows, created specifically for this innovative and spectacular space on our next-generation Sun Princess.”
The Dome is described as an entertainment venue with a hidden stage, state-of-the-art lighting and natural sky views that will highlight eight acrobatic and aerial performers. The shows include Blue, which is described as “poetic, universal and uplifting;” Come Fly Away, which is described as “playful, musical and interactive;” and Artbeat, which is describes as “uplifting, colorful and positive.”
Also set to feature Cirque Eloize entertainment will be the second in the Sphere Class series. The newly named Star Princess will come online in August 2025, also measuring in at 175,500 tons with a capacity for 4,300 guests. It will offer the same next-generation venues, such as the Dome, the Princess Arena, the Piazza and the double-decker Lotus Spa.
The fresh ship will follow a heritage of Star Princess vessels before her, the first of which emerged in 1989 following the merger of Sitmar Cruises into the Princess brand. And the second launched later as the third Grand Class ship in 2002.
