Recently reappearing on the Waikiki entertainment scene is “ONE,”
an evening of mystifying illusions, fire juggling, comedy acts and
new high-energy Polynesian revue.
The show has been reopened at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort
& Spa following a revamp to the showroom and lineup.
“We’ve reopened in the same showroom, but with enhanced stage
and lighting,” said Frank Clark, president of CG Productions. “The
show has also added new variety acts and expanded its content.”
With Hawaii’s visitors arriving from so many non-English
speaking locations, Clark feels the show “ONE” provides
entertainment that everyone can enjoy.
“It’s universal in appeal,” he said. “There’s no dialogue, just
action and singing. We wanted to make sure everyone could
understand it and have a good time, regardless of their age or
where they’re from.”
Actors impersonating such musical performers as Madonna, Marilyn
Monroe and Elvis Presley take audiences back in time from the 1950s
to the 1990s.
Headlining the “ONE” show is the award winning magic team of Les
and Terri Au. In the early 1990s, the husband and wife duo
performed in the “Splash” production at the Riviera Hotel and
Casino in Las Vegas. They have also performed at various hotels
throughout Hawaii and have been honored by several national magic
organizations. The Au’s signature trick features exotic birds that
are released to fly over the audience and around the showroom as
part of the act.
Three different packages are available: a Cocktail Package with
one drink priced at $39 per adult or child; a Standard Package with
buffet dinner and one drink for $59 per adult and $42 for children;
and a VIP Deluxe Package with one drink, and a filet mignon and
lobster dinner for $89 per adult or child.
The buffet dinner includes such Island favorites as mahi mahi,
seafood with Thai curry, Korean teriyaki steak with grilled Maui
onion, chicken and wok seared vegetables stir fry, chow mein
noodles and white rice.
“The majority of Waikiki’s shows have been around for awhile,”
Clark commented. “And we have so many repeat visitors here. ‘ONE’
provides a new option to those longer running shows. Reviews have
been great, so we’re really pleased.”
“ONE” is performed every Monday, Wednesday and Friday evening
from 7-8:15 p.m. at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa’s
Leahi Showroom.
