Discover More of Maui at Honua Kai Resort & Spa

Jan 15, 2013

Experience the perfect balance of exploration and relaxation at Maui’s newest luxury resort, Honua Kai Resort & Spa, the ideal accommodations for couples, families, an extended family, or friends traveling together.

Honua Kai Resort & Spa combines all the comforts of home with the amenities of a luxury resort. Each suite features a professionally equipped kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances, ideal for any amateur or gourmet chef. In-suite washers and dryers, and a separate bathroom for each bedroom are also an added convenience. Enjoy the breathtaking views of Maui and island breeze on the expansive furnished lanai with a special folding glass wall, ideal accommodations for any travelers.

There are many activities to enjoy on-property at Honua Kai. Refresh and relax at the Aquatic Playground, featuring a waterslide, waterfall and a sandy beach for the kids. Plus, it includes a meandering lazy river with adjoining serenity and lap pools for the ultimate rejuvenation.  And of course, world-famous Kaanapali Beach is steps away inviting a stroll along the pure white sand, a dip in the sea, or a front row seat to watch the humpback whales play right off shore.

Want to take a closer look? Honua Kai offers a Whale Watching Package, including a five-night stay at the resort, a rental car, tickets for a whale watch tour and a readiness kit. Everything needed for an unforgettable, once in a lifetime adventure.

There are many land and sea adventures within a short five-minute drive of Honua Kai Resort. Aina (land) activities include hikes, golfing, zip lining, ATV outings and horseback riding. Some Kai (ocean) options are snorkeling in Honolua Bay Marine Reserve, parasailing, and stand up paddling or surfing lessons.

The friendly Honua Kai Concierge can help you plan the perfect island excursion. Take a day trip along the legendary road to Hana with its 620 curves and 59 bridges — leading through rainforests, waterfalls and pristine pools. Or head out early to watch the sunrise at spectacular Haleakala, and meander though Upcountry, the home of the Hawaiian paniolo.

To help guests explore the Valley Isle, Maui’s newest luxury resort and TripAdvisor's top rated resort on the west side, Honua Kai Resort & Spa created their popular Room & Car Zoom. Bundling a vehicle and a room helps guests discover more of Maui.

When opting for together time at the resort, onsite activities abound. The Family Fun Club provides festive, Hawaiian themed activities that fun-loving families enjoy — hula dancing, flower lei making, nature scavenger hunts, Hawaiian storytelling, and many others. Adults can participate in a variety of fitness classes or stop by the Fitness Center for a workout with top-of-the-line fitness machines including treadmills, ellipticals, weights and more.

Honua Kai’s dining venues are a culinary adventure. Duke’s Beach House provides exceptional oceanfront dining while paying homage to the restaurant’s namesake, legendary surfer and waterman Duke Kahanamoku. Serving fresh locally sourced ingredients for breakfast, lunch, dinner or cocktails. The Hawaiian-influenced cuisine focuses on fresh sustainable ingredients, including seafood and premium steaks. Cocktails are often accompanied by entertainment.

Aina Gourmet Market is a charming café with a full coffee bar, pastries, prepared salads, Panini sandwiches, and healthy grab-and-go meals. The market is based on the concept of using products within a 100-mile radius — stocking produce from Maui first, preferably from smaller farms and island based businesses. Along with prepared meals, they offer a wide selection of grocery items, snacks, wines and spirits as well as gift items. The BBQ grilling areas are popular with families and friends to create masterpieces for en suite dining experiences — ideal for gatherings or entertaining.

Whether they are seeking adventure, relaxation or reconnection, people are traveling together to create memories. Honua Kai Resort & Spa sets the stage for these wonderful experiences to unfold.
