The Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau (HVCB) has launched a campaign encouraging travelers to tag #LetHawaiiHappen in their social media posts about their Hawaii vacations. The campaign helps travelers share the unexpected pleasures of their Hawaii trips. At the same time, it allows them to see how others enjoyed their vacations.
HVCB will curate the social media content for use on its website and for its print, digital, online and social media marketing. Television ads illustrating the #LetHawaiiHappen concept reflect how visitors can create personal memories in Hawaii.
While the campaign targets consumers, it has great value to travel agents, said Karen Hughes, vice president of Meet Hawaii and Travel Industry Partnerships for HVCB.
“The best travel memories often come from the unplanned moments of a planned vacation,” Hughes said. “The new campaign highlights those amazing travel memories ... and gives agents an up-to-the-minute glance at what’s real, unique and special to visitors in the islands.”
Agents can use #LetHawaiiHappen to keep in touch with how travelers are spending their days and nights in the islands, what inspires them and what’s new to see and do in the destination.
“This knowledge helps enable agents to recommend experiences they may not have even known about,” Hughes said.
