Hawaii Island's Most Romantic Hotel Dinner Spots

When it comes to romantic settings, Hawaii Island has it all. Waterfalls, forests, volcanoes and beaches of black, green and sugar white create an appetizing backdrop for couples looking to savor their time together.

The mood doesn’t stop as the sun starts to set. Instead, that’s when resorts step in with special outdoor meals for two in the balmy evening air. From honeymooners to travelers who are simply celebrating their love, these private dinners fan the flames well into the night with gourmet spreads and starry skies.

Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii
First, twosomes select their dining location at Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii, from an oceanfront gazebo to a hidden table in a coconut grove. Once there, a butler stands ready to please. The four-course feast starts with a choice of salads and continues with either ahi poke or a prawn cocktail. After an entree of local lobster tails or tenderloin steak, guests swoon over passion fruit cheesecake.

Before dinner, clients can opt for an add-on sunset canoe ride. Other options include snuggles by a fire pit, leis, photography, music and a hula dancer.

Four Seasons Resort Hualalai
Whether the duo desires a garden setting or a toes-in-the-sand table, they get top billing at Four Seasons Resort Hualalai. Packages provide a three- or four-course menu, each with a chef consultation, a server, flowers, linens and china. Extras range from a hula dancer and ukulele player to professional photography and filming.

If a proposal is part of the plan, the resort’s Just Say Yes package offers a private helicopter flight to a secluded picnic site and a love-note-lined path to the place where the big question will be popped.

Mauna Kea Beach Hotel
The his-and-hers party at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel begins with a personalized escort to a dining area of choice, with options such as an oceanview deck, a table on the third tee of the golf course, a serene garden terrace or a tree-framed lawn. The four-course menu comes with wine or champagne, floral centerpieces and tiki torches.

Couples can enhance the affair with everything from a conch shell blower, a solo musician or a fire knife dancer to after-dinner stargazing and a cosmic canoe paddle.

Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows
At Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows, a private table on the beach awaits couples seeking some one-on-one time in an inspiring locale. With a dedicated waiter attending to their every whim, guests enjoy each other’s company along with four courses selected from the hotel’s CanoeHouse menu.

Clients also get a private dinner as part of the hotel’s romance package; the meal takes place on their guestroom lanai. The package includes champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, a rose-petal turndown and a couples massage.
