Hyatt Waikiki Unveils $100 Million Guestroom Renovation

One year and $100 million later, Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa has completed the renovation of its 1,230 guestrooms.

“A lot of elements of the renovation were designed with our North American guests in mind,” said David Martinez, sales and marketing director for Hyatt Regency Waikiki. “We want our guests to feel at home and at ease no matter where they come from.”

Among the room upgrades are 55-inch televisions, some of the largest in Waikiki. Other technological improvements include conveniently-placed power outlets and USB port and free Wi-Fi access to an ultra-fast Internet connection.

The hotel’s guestroom decor now features clean, contemporary lines and Hawaiian cultural touches such as surfboard-shaped desks and koa wood clocks. The spa-like bathrooms come with bidet-style toilets and new shower heads.

The result is a hotel that’s keeping competitive with its neighboring properties in Waikiki, said Martinez.

“Our renovations give travel agents something fresh and enticing to talk about when referencing all of our new amenities and modern design details,” Martinez said. “Paired with some of our current travel offers, such as Sunshine on Sale, there are multiple reasons to experience these updates.”

Hyatt Regency Waikiki renovated its suites in 2009 and dining outlets in 2011.
